How Can I Help???

New Life offers many different opportunities for people to make a difference. From volunteering at our free health clinic, to tutoring underpriveleged children, to even helping build a new playground and help revitalize a neighborhood, helping people can only be limited by ones imagination.

New Life offers many programs for people to get involved. In March, when most college have Spring Break, NLVS is organizing a week of coming together for helping others. This week long charity adventure will allow our members to meet other like minded persons from around the world, and come together for the benefit of those less fortunate.

You can also help our cause by donating money and finding sponsorship for our charitable projects. We are a non-profit organization, however to offer the many services we do, outside funding is needed.

We understand that as a college student, many of you do not have a lot of money. New Life's Work A Day Initiative, is a very popular program that we have that still allows one to contribute, without breaking the bank! Assuming minimum wage, an employee will make around 45 dollars for a full day's work. For those of you who are working, we ask you to take one day from your entire year to work for those who could use the money even more than you. A contribution of 45 dollars can help more than you might believe!

Why Should I Help???

Did you know . . .

Hunger:

One person dies every 3.6 seconds from hunger.

75% of these deaths are children under the age of 5.

A report published on October 14 th , 1999 in London by the World Food Program (WFP) said that around 790 million people in the world suffer from chronic malnutrition, mainly due to armed conflicts and natural catastrophes.

In the time you have read to this point, at least 4 people have died from starvation of which 3 are children.

Homeless:

According to the U.S. National Law Center on Homelessness and Poverty, there are 2 million people a year who are homeless with an estimate of over 700,00 people homeless on any given night.

If this is the case for the most prosperous nation in the globe, just imagine elsewhere.

Mentally and Physically Disabled:

20% of all human beings are affected with some sort of a disability.

All of these numbers represent PEOPLE just like you and me. Let's give them a hand!
